Rapid Laser Tattoo Removal Salinas, CA
Laser Tattoo Removal by REVITALessence featured in Health Matters Magazine
Revitalessence Medical Spa and Laser Center has invested in the industry-leading Astanza Trinity laser to perform rapid laser tattoo removal in Salinas.
The Astanza Trinity Laser is recognized as the most powerful multi-wavelength system in the industry. Because it combines the powers of a Q-switched Nd: YAG laser and Ruby laser, it can effectively and safely treat tattoos of any color.
This triple-wavelength laser allows the complete removal of the majority of even the most colorful tattoos.
How Do Tattoo Lasers Work?
When you get a tattoo, the ink is embedded in your skin. Tattoos fade over many years because your body’s immune system recognizes them as a foreign substance and continuously tries to remove them.
Tattoo lasers work by breaking up the ink molecules, which speeds up the natural fading process that happens over time.
What Happens During the Tattoo Laser Treatment?
Most patients will have a topical anesthetic applied prior to their treatment to try and numb the skin. We will then likely cover your tattoo with a clear gel pad (see below).
The Astanza Trinity laser emits extremely quick pulses of light energy onto your unwanted tattoo. The ink particles in your skin will absorb the light energy, causing them to shatter into tiny fragments. After the ink is broken into smaller fragments, your body is able to remove the ink naturally and at a quicker pace.
What Colors Can Be Treated?
Green and blue inks are known to be difficult to remove and are even considered untreatable by other laser tattoo removal clinics and medical spas. The reason for this is that most laser tattoo removal providers do not carry the essential wavelengths to eliminate these stubborn pigments.
The Trinity laser emits three versatile wavelengths – Q-switched ND: YAG wavelengths of 1064nm and 532nm, and the Ruby laser wavelength of 694nm – to tackle and remove the widest range of ink colors.
Resistant shades like bright blue and vibrant green colors are treatable by the 694nm Ruby wavelength because 694nm is the only wavelength that is successfully absorbed by them. Other tattoo lasers claim to be able to remove these colors, but their lasers that target these colors are very low power, making them much less effective.
The absorption of light energy is what causes the ink particles to shatter. Certain wavelengths are absorbed by a specific group of colors and are only effective within that group. That is why it is so important to have multiple wavelengths available.
Here is a breakdown of all the colors our Trinity can remove:
- 1064 nm – black, brown, dark blue
- 532 nm – red, orange, yellow, violet
- 694 nm – vivid blue, turquoise, teal, bright green
It is only through the combination of these wavelengths that a multicolored tattoo can be effectively treated and removed to completion.
How Painful Is the Treatment? How Many Treatments Does It Take to Remove Most Tattoos?
Tattoo removal with a laser is not a pain-free procedure. There are several things we can do to lessen the discomfort of the treatments.
These include the use of topical anesthetics (applied here in the office ahead of the treatment), the use of chilled air blowing on the tattoo during the treatment, and the use of the Describe gel pads during the treatment.
Conventional tattoo removal involves one treatment at a time spaced apart at 4-8 week intervals. At this pace, it can take months to years to remove most tattoos.
Rapid Laser Tattoo removal involves the use of the Describe Transparent gel pads to interface between the tattoo laser and the patient. This allows multiple passes of the laser over the tattoo, speeding removal of the tattoo significantly.
How Do We Do More Rapid Laser Tattoo Removal?
Normally, when the laser light hits the skin over the top of a tattoo, the skin blisters and the tissue turns white. The white tissue then reflects all subsequent laser light, preventing more than one pass of the laser at a time.
On Light Sciences® Describe Transparent gel pads use a transparent patch infused with perfluorodecalin (PFD), a non-toxic inert clear liquid that helps speed clearance of the opaque white tissue that forms with a conventional single pass of the laser.
This allows us to do multiple passes of the laser in one setting. Clinical trials have shown that patients have less discomfort and faster healing post-treatment.
What Is Aftercare Like?
After your rapid laser tattoo removal treatment session, you will need to moisturize and wear proper sunblock, since the area will be more prone to sun damage during recovery. You will also need to protect the region with gauze and an antibiotic ointment. Avoid scratching at the area.
How Much Does Rapid Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?
The cost of rapid laser tattoo removal with the Astanza Trinity laser varies. Price is impacted by the number of treatments required, along with the age, size, and location of the tattoo. Because of this, it is best to ask about the cost during your consultation.
